Thanks Mom and Dad!

So, here is the sad story with a happy ending.

6 months ago, we gave up a wonderful little golden mix named Dory. We were living with the in-laws, and the housing situation wasnt good. I am not going to make excuses for what I did, because they're just arent any. It was a cop out. I felt pressure, that I should never have given in to. I am very shameful for what happened to Dory.

We sold Dory to a family who had little kids and a cat. I knew(99999999999999989 this is a contribution from bubby who just plopped his head on my laptop lol) she wouldnt be AS happy as with us, but I figured it was an OK home. I couldnt have been more wrong. well, in fact, I DID know, and worse, I didnt leave with her.

I stayed in contact with the family, and it hurt very much to know that she wasnt doing well. I wanted her back. They wouldnt return her, and I didnt blame them, after all she is a great dog.

so, to make a long sad story short..after they told us to leave them alone and that we would never get dory back, easter sunday I see an ad- for Dory! they wont give her back to me, but they will sell her to a fricken stranger, after they signed a contract stating they would return her to me within the 1st year if they didnt want her anymore. Pure Spite man. I have no idea why either.

well, we had to quickly make a plan, we had to get her back! she could already be sold....we knew she would never speak to either of us. Our friend Lisa said she would call and then buy Dory back for us. It all went off without a hitch and we now have her little abused soul back.

They locked her up, shocked her with a shock collar, and starved her. she has not been off the leash since leaving us. She has been hit because she is hand shy. she peed in the house because they couldnt be bothered to take her out. Since she has been home, she has not gone potty int he house once. I had no doubt that she wouldnt. She never did.

At 1st it was a bit sad because it didnt seem that she knew who we were. Then Rod called her by her nickname of "freak"...and she came to life kissing us and acting like she really remembered who we are. Since then, she has dove back into the routine she once had, this time with a new boyfriend. Bubby.
